Slide Repair

Sink holes or slippage due to the movement of ground or landslides, can be caused by a couple of things.

We at Earp Construction & Excavating Company Inc have found that the most common factor is the natural clay seams found in or around our region that I call a Slip Seam. Slip seams are usually grey to blue in color and tend to run 2-3 feet below the top layer of ground. Sometimes deeper and sometimes are found just before hitting rock or rock layered ground. Also slip seams can be found just below red colored clay as well. This seam is very unstable, and when ground water or broken drain lines encounter the slip seam it causes the seam to be very unstable and in most cases lets the earth above it slide off. Many different methods are used to fix or repair slips, or to prevent further damage.
